The Royal Society of Chemistry is pleased to collaborate with the Chinese Society of Chemical Science and Technology based in London (CSCST-UK)  to sponsor two young scientists* based in the UK to go back to China to seek collaboration or get further experience and skills to enhance their research project in the UK. These travel grants are given annually and the prize certificates are presented at the annual Joint Annual Conference of CSCST-SCI.

Encouraging UK-China collaboration

As part of our work to encourage collaborations between researchers in the UK and China, we sponsored a conference that was jointly organised by the Chinese Society of Chemical Science and Technology in the UK (CSCST-UK) and the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI). On 25 October, more than 70 participants from 16 universities shared their research and insights into Integrated System Approaches to High Value Manufacturing.
In addition, we announced two RSC-CSCST Emerging Talent Prizes at the conference. These prizes constitute travel grants for early-career researchers in academia to visit China to develop collaborations that will further their research.

Conference organiser and Chairman of CSCST-UK Dr Shanning Dong announced the two winners at the conference closing session. Dr Shan Jiang from the University of Liverpool and Dr Songsong Liu from University College London both received certificates alongside their prize to enable them to attend conferences or meetings in China.
