In the meeting the topic of social media cropped up, bringing with it horrified faces, much shuffling of papers and murmuring to each other. Clearly it is still a concern. But does it need to be?

Even on my holidays I think about careers and I am personally a big advocate of vocational learning and so when I heard that BBC Radio 4 were running a series on The Real Apprentice I couldn't help but listen. Many people want to go to university and do a degree, but what if you don't want to? It really isn't just because it is Friday afternoon, and I've only just remembered to blog but this article on the Guardian website contains lots of really helpful information about getting into graduate schemes.

Remember you don't have to be straight out of university to apply and my favourite tip ........... make sure you tell the organisation why you want to work for them!  Make sure you demonstrate enthusiasm for the organisation and the scheme.

Details of the RSC Graduate schemes can be found here and we are currently accepting applications.

With the UK Government advocating that we start up more businesses, there may never have been a better time says Richard Branson.
