New Royal Society of Chemistry Book Published
Around the World in 18 Elements by David Scott
Written with both students and educators in mind, this book presents a tour of the elements found in the British "A" level syllabus.
Each chapter presents a key concept of chemistry in the context of the element, instilling a wider background in chemistry to the reader, which can then be tested by questions in the text. Priced at £19.99, this would make an ideal prize for school events. Copies can be ordered from the
online Bookshop and don’t forget Members receive a 35% discount.
Ebooks from the Library
All sorts of interesting chemistry e-Books can be accessed via
the Virtual Library. We hold electronic copies from
EBSCO,
Knovel,
Elsevier and
Springer. Aside from in-depth, research-led titles, there are also some popular chemistry reads such as
‘The Last Sorcerers’, which charts chemistry from its mystical alchemy origins into the science we know today.
Search for ‘E-Book’ under locations in the
Library Catalogue for more.

Diversity tip of the month
Have you considered broadcasting your events online? If it is impossible for some people to attend, would this be a suitable way for them to be involved? A webinar might enable some to watch content after the event.
