Communications from across the RSC
We have mentors availableBeing mentored has helped our members to:
- achieve greater clarity around their career goals and how to achieve them
- learn more about themselves
- gain greater self-confidence and self-belief
- pursue personal and professional development and practical learning
- improve relationships with their colleagues and their performance in their current role.
One member described how having a mentor has given him the opportunity to think about his career: It’s always useful to think about my goals and setting myself objectives. 'Everyday life' often prevents me from doing this and so this has given me an opportunity to do so.’If you are in one of our professional categories of membership (AMRSC, MRSC or FRSC) or you hold a professional registration (RSci or RSciTech) then you are eligible to become a Mentee. All our mentors are Members or Fellows of the Royal Society of Chemistry. If you’d like more information about accessing a mentor please email careers@rsc.org
New Guidance Launched For CCF ApplicationsPrevious feedback has revealed that Members can be apprehensive in speaking with the Chemists’ Community Fund. In order to move some way in overcoming this hurdle the Fund team have spoken with a previous beneficiary to discuss what others can expect when liaising and applying to the Fund. The case study, which is available under the heading ‘What can you expect if you apply to the CCF?’ on this page - http://www.rsc.org/membership-and-community/chemists-community-fund/#undefined , could be used as a signpost for Members who may be interested in the CCF.
