Resource peer reviewers needed

Resource peer reviewers needed

Posted by Nic Bygrave on Jan 19, 2015 1:24 pm

At the Royal Society of Chemistry we are looking to increase the support we offer to those working and learning in higher education, specifically the resources that we provide through our Learn Chemistry for higher education site. A key part of this will be making more resources available for both students and educators, and allowing the community to share best practice.

Before any resource becomes available it has to be externally evaluated, and we are currently looking for university chemistry teachers to peer review new resources. This involves giving an opinion on whether it is suitable, and shouldn’t take more than a few hours every four months.

As a reviewer you would be publically recognised for your contributions. We are also looking for ways to promote our reviewers input and would welcome suggestions.

Dear Nicola,

This may be off topic a bit, but I did find an interesting tool at TED talks, it is TED education and here you can post video based interactive classes, these allow for great engagment with students and can be connected with Google classroom. For example: https://ed.ted.com/on/zAy4U4FX is a class we started producing around the Galapagos Islands as a subject and location to study. It allows to include a video, questions, interaction and a full lecture of thoughts with post discussions.

I am more interested in taking the chemistry courses. I see a very helpful community, I feel it will help me learn a bit more about sciences.
