Royal Society of Chemistry Inspirational Committee Award and Inspirational Member Award - Call for Nominations

Posted by Nic Bygrave on May 21, 2015 2:08 pm

Following feedback from our members, this year we are also introducing new recognition awards through the ‘Inspirational Committee Award’ and ‘Inspirational Member Award’. These are for committees and individuals who have engaged and had impact within their communities.

Members of Council, Division Presidents, Chairs of other Interest Groups and Section Chairs (UK and overseas) are invited to make nominations for:

The inspirational committee award (maximum of 3 per year)

  • For committees that have initiated novel activities or approaches in order to engage or provide services for their communities. This might include initiatives to make the committee or events more inclusive to engage new members, an activity which has had a significant demonstrable impact in the community or other activity which demonstrably supports our wider strategy.
and

The inspirational member award (maximum of 5 per year)

  • This is aimed at members who have been instrumental in driving and delivering activities that have had a demonstrable impact on their community. This would aim to complement the Award for Service, but would be more accessible for those who have had a significant and demonstrable impact through their voluntary activities, but perhaps over a shorter time period (and aimed at member-led activities rather than service through formal governance).
Nominations will be judged by a Panel of the Member Networks Committee.
Guidance notes including the criteria for the Award and a nomination form are available on the website.

Any nomination you wish to make must be supported by a short citation of not more than 250 words and must reach us, preferably by e-mail by not later than Friday 22 June 2015. Please try to ensure that any nominations emerge in confidence.

If you would like any further information please contact us. Award winners will be invited to and presented their awards at the General Assembly on 13 November 2015.
