Benzocaine is the ethyl ester of 4-aminobenzoic acid. It can be prepared from 4-aminobenzoic acid and ethanol by Fischer esterification or by the reduction of ethyl 4-nitrobenzoate. It’s advised only to use the drug for ADULT as it can cause life-threatening condition.
