I have found that silicon carbide nanoflakes have been synthesized through a one-step solvothermal route involving reaction of SiCl4 and CaC2 at 180 °C. But there is no additional information about this reaction. I would ask my roommate that lived with me in property in Barcelona he is also into chemistry.
