Here, I would like to discuss Philip Ball's article on BBC. Officially, there's no evidence that the table can be extended in the nearest future, however, there're huge expectations that it will happen. Each company that deals with science and scientific research is now struggling to add more elements to the table and by this become noticeable and renowned (looks like the Cold War continues anyway).

Interesting! But I think its still possible to extent the existing periodic table. I dont think the world are 100% discovered. There could be still left some undiscovered super-heavy elements. Furthermore, IUPAC just discover another 4 new elements in 2016.
