60 MHz NMR Machine

60 MHz NMR Machine

Posted by Fiona McMillan on Feb 13, 2014 12:14 pm

The Royal Society of Chemistry Essex Local Section have been running Spectroscopy Workshops for schools for many years and in the last 4 years have given over 4000 local students the opportunity to gain hands on experience in NMR, IR, UK and GC-MS. These workshops are held in the University of Essex using equipment from the, now closed, Chemistry Department. Last year with the support of staff and members they managed to replace their GC equipment. The NMR machine which they had been using is now out of use and the University is not in a position to replace this equipment. They would like to find either a second hand 60MHz NMR permanent magnet NMR machine to place in the University or a picospin NMR machine to borrow for the duration of their events.

If you think you might be able to help this group of RSC members continue their fantastic series of workshops please contact Fiona McMillan (mcmillanf@rsc.org, 01223 432269).
