The lecture will be delivered by Dr Hilary Hamnett.

Dr Hilary Hamnett is a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Science at the University of Lincoln and a member of the UK Government’s Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs. She will talk about her eight years as a forensic toxicologist, and how analytical chemistry is used in this field to detect alcohol, drugs and poisons in biological fluids. She will discuss how samples are taken, prepared and analysed, and use some real case examples to demonstrate how we interpret concentrations of drugs and poisons in post-mortem cases.

The event will be on 13th March 2019 18:00-20:00 at the Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House, London.
