The Group's mission is to maintain the logical progression of molecular science from chemistry into biochemistry, biology, medicine, plant and food science. Thus, it has an interdisciplinary approach, representing the protein science interests of chemists, molecular biologists, structural biologists, peptide chemists and biologists, medics, members of the biotechnology, food and pharmaceutical industries. These interests are represented in the make-up of the Committee. The Group is actively engaged in the organisation of meetings to promote Peptide and Protein Science, and in representing our members' interests in the wider scientific community, in government, at Research Councils, and at grant giving bodies such as the Wellcome Trust. The Group attempts to influence positively the way in which science is taught in schools, colleges and universities.
Please note that membership of this forum does not equate to membership of the Royal Society of Chemistry Protein and Peptide Science Group.
Membership of the Interest Group is open to all members of the Royal Society of Chemistry - please email membership@rsc.org for further information.
