Another weekend has flown by and it's the start of my 7th week in my new role ............... and I'm really enjoying the new challenges and working with my new team.  That said I'm finding that I'm still able to use lots of the skills I developed in my old role as an HR Executive.

I had a telephone consultation this morning with a member who was looking for some tips around interview techniques and she said she wanted to talk about work that she had done as a volunteer that she felt very passionate about but she did not want to appear too passionate.

I have just been reading an article about the importance of story telling in job applications.  At first I wasn't sure if that was the right approach but the research quoted in the article on the Guardian website suggests that stories can 'transform the dry facts of your career into vivid accounts of your challenges and triumphs.'   Apparently it helps to make a strong emotional connection. more...

It is by Niki Chesworth and is entitled 'Are your skills past their sell-by date?' (I don't have a link as yet but when I find one, I will let you know) and it got me thinking about spring cleaning. So, it's out with the old and in with the new....or is it?
