RSC Top of the Bench

Top of the Bench is a national competition for KS3 and KS4 students designed to encourage and reward high achievement in school chemistry students.

The competition takes place in two parts during the academic year. Regional heats, organised by Local Sections, take place from October to January. These are a great opportunity to showcase talent in your local area. Winning teams from the heats progress to a national final organised by the RSC Education department at the end of the Spring Term.

Letters to Local Sections

As you may be already aware it's that time of year to start preparing for TOTB Regional Heats. If you haven't already responded to our email and letter we would still very much like to hear from you and receive your ideas for this years event. This is a great opportunity to showcase the achievements in your local area and we encourage you to invite as many schools as possible to share in this event to enthuse and encourage student's interest in chemistry.

We have set up this network to enable you to share ideas for regional heats and offer advice where necessary. If you have any queries regarding how best to run your regional heat then please post your enquiry here.

As always, your feedback is very important to us and sharing your experiences will help us improve this event in future years. As such we will be asking you to complete a feedback form through MyRSC when you have run your event.
